What's Happening This Week in Class (4/23-4/27)

This week in class we will be wrapping up or unit on The Great Gatsby.

Monday- Students should have read through Chapter 8. We will have a reading/quotation analysis quiz. There will also be some time at the end of class for students to work on their Character Metaphor Project.

Tuesday- Character Metaphor Projects are due. We will spend the class period presenting these projects.

Wednesday- Students should bring their copy of The Great Gatsby to class and read through Chapter 9. There will be time to work on their last three seminar tickets. Without these tickets completed, the students will not be able to participate in the Discussion Seminar tomorrow.

Thursday- The students should have completed the novel and must have their 3 seminar tickets and a copy of The Great Gatsby with them in class. We will have our second Discussion Seminar today in which we will discuss the end of the novel and the book as a whole. Feel free to bring any questions or comments about the novel with you to class and be ready to discuss!

Friday- We will finish our Discussion Seminar in class today. This is your last day to earn points for the discussion, so come prepared to participate! I will also assign the culminating essay for The Great Gatsby. This essay will be worth 75 points and is due on May 7.

Homework- Buy your copy of Shakespeare's Hamlet and bring to class on Monday! Have a wonderful weekend!
